Atypical Surfaces was born from a passion for Brazilian natural stones — ancient rocks, valued for their unique veining, striking textures, and patterns that bring singularity to every project. To us, these stones aren’t imperfections. They’re masterpieces. They’re one of a kind.
And that’s exactly what makes them so valuable in design: their Atypical nature.

But this appreciation for the different goes beyond design.

We believe that the same eye that sees beauty in exotic stone can also recognize the value of human differences.
Neurodiversity, the many ways of being, thinking, and existing in the world — all of it makes up the mosaic of humanity. And just like the stones, it’s in each person’s uniqueness that we find the richest stories, the boldest marks, and the power to transform.
